April 10, 2000. The caravan arrives in Fridley, MN,  and begins gathering wood for the Vilma B.  It's still snowing! see log entry for this date

Unloading salvaged wood at the boatramp in the Anoka Riverside Park in Fridley.

Unloading salvaged flotation foam, with which we will fill each pontoon. This is what makes it a raft, not a boat.

April 12. Ed, Aurelia, Poppa, and June next to the first completed pontoon, just before launching it.

Poppa surveys the work: the two pontoons have been joined, creating the first, 16' section of the raft.

April 14th, we do our first test run on the river. A 4HP outboard does the job, upstream and down.

April 18. The first cabin goes on, and Ed moves onboard.  see log entry for this date

Repeating the process, now with the third pontoon.

The third pontoon has been launched and brought alongside; a second cabin has also been built.
